- As we waited for everyone to arrive, we did a word search and crossword puzzle related to the book.
- We ate snacks related to the book: chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream and chocolate milk.
- We read a nonfiction book called From Cocoa Bean to Chocolate and watched a YouTube video about how chocolate is made.
- We discussed some questions about the book like: Why did Henry run away from the hospital? Would you have run away? What did you think about the situation with cinnamon at the end of the book? What in the book made it obvious to you that it was written a long time ago (1972)?
- The girls all drew pictures of themselves with a sickness that they could get. Then the girls shared their pictures with the group.
