Activities:

• As we waited for everyone to arrive, the girls drew pictures of Bob. I used page 5 of this PDF made by the publisher. 
• We ate snacks we read about in the book: candy (caramels, sour cherry balls, black licorice), potato chips, and ice pops.
• We made a chess set using pennies. I used this free printable for the chess board and chess pieces. Then I used a 3/4-in. punch to cut out all the circles. Then I gave the girls each a bag of the chess piece circles, 32 pennies, and a roll of double sided tape. Then they attached their chess pieces to the pennies. I also printed this page for basic chess rules and walked them through the basics of chess.
• We tried out the chicken walk (the way Bob walks when pretending to be a chicken, described step by step in the book). The girls were laughing so hard!
• The girls took home a black pawn keychain.
